Quote of the Week

Political rights do not exist because they have been legally set down on a piece of paper, but only when they have become the ingrown habit of a people, and when any attempt to impair them will meet with the violent resistance of the populace

Well seaid. Many people in the south, I live in Southern Louisiana, feel that only folks that are white, bright and christian should have rights.

does that make it a political right?

tough question. i feel the force and insight of the quote, but at the same time wonder about constitution and the effect of "imposed" structures in which we grow up and form our 'political rights'.
